Originally from Lancashire, I moved in order to study Biology at Newcastle University. After spending time researching in exciting projects abroad I decided to change career into healthcare. I moved to Leamington Spa after qualifying as a chartered physiotherapist from the University of Birmingham. Since moving ‘down south’ I have been with South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust, initially as a rotational physiotherapist covering outpatient and cardiorespiratory inpatients, and since specialising into Pelvic Health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
My clinical passion is pelvic health physiotherapy. As a member of the Pelvic Obstetric Gynaecology Physiotherapy (POGP) professional network, I access and review the latest upcoming evidence and research as well as attend professional courses and seminars. I assess and treat a range of conditions within obstetrics, gynaecology, incontinence, and sexual health. I enjoy helping individuals achieve their goals by combining my interest in sports and exercise with pelvic health. For example, returning to running postnatally.
As a teenager, I started attending local Pilates classes with my mum and it didn’t take long for me to become hooked. I have really enjoyed teaching an introductory class as a student instructor with The Well Centre since July 2022. In the future I am looking forward to developing my practice further to include pre- and post-natal, pelvic health, orthopaedic, and cancer rehabilitation.
Outside of work, I love being outdoors and keeping active with jogging, cycling, bouldering, swimming, weight training, and of course Pilates. Additionally, I’ve been learning Spanish and I am always keen to try something new.
